It's nearly Easter at last! Actually, as it's been an assessment week, I feel like I've caught up a little bit. Oddly, I always find test papers easier to mark than books, which doesn't make sense really as they're bulkier and often take longer. Snow again! This is ridiculous! Been kind of an up and down week this week. As a result of my telling them that their child was poorly behaved in class, one of the parents made an appointment to see our interim head, which was a bit stressful. I try not to let that stuff affect me too much and I obviously couldn't not have said it, but still, it did rather cast a shadow over ( Read more... ) -

Despite my constant gloomy "it's only a 50% probability on the weather forecast" nay sayings, we did actually get snow this week, and enough for a snow day off school at that. I think I have now had more snow days at new school than I had at old school in 8 years. I mean the head was very opposed to closing unless absolutely necessary (to the ( Read more... ) -

Feels like I haven't stopped this weekend. It's not actually true - I did almost nothing on Saturday - but it still feels like it. I can't decide if it's that I didn't give myself quite enough work time over Christmas or if it's that my PPA went really off track this week, but I don't know. I need to catch up. We're home! I always enjoy the bit of coming home where I spend most of the first day back reassuring the kittens that the interruption in their fuss supply was only temporary and that I will always come home with more fusses for them <3. I was feeling all virtuous because I'd written a nice chatty update about our Tenerife trip yesterday evening and then the internet connection went down and it got swallowed! Although somewhat clichéd, I feel like I have to acknowledge here the fact that it's snowing. It's become so uncommon that I actually find it slightly unnerving. I rather enjoy sitting watching and listening to the rain but the snow is so quiet and it feels so isolating, even though it's not really as we're in the middle of the city. We had ( Read more... ) -

Finally back from residential! It's a great opportunity for the kids but it's so tiring! I was quite pleased with how my layering worked to keep me warm though - several on both top and bottom and I actually didn't get very cold on any of the days, which is good because the showers weren't great! Still, it'll be a relief to be back at school, ( Read more... )
