Wow. That was really wow.

(It's funny how so many things about the Aussie version seem just slightly off from the US one. The production quality, for one - the US version wouldn't have those awkward pauses between the camera cutting back to the host, and the host beginning to speak...)

And yet so many things about the Australian version are so much higher in quality!! The dancers (there were 8 great dances in the Top 16 show -- I don't think the US show has ever had a flawless night), the choreography in some cases, the frickin judging -- omg the judging! The two male Australian judges are SO MUCH BETTER -- good eye, useful feedback for the dancers, helpful education for the audience, they actually talk about dancing & technique instead of whether people are dating each other or not -- than the useless American panel! Although the one female judge (Nigel Lythgoe's ex-wife) is perpetually drunk and says useless Paula things. But at least she doesn't shriek like Mary Murphy.

This round of SYTYCDOz is a MUCH better viewing experience all round than the most recent season of the US version, actually.

I remember the A New Day Has Come one that you showed me, which that husband and wife choreographer couple ripped off from the Oz version. It was better for sure! And also that clip with the gay dancer who dressed in drag sometimes, that was amazing stuff.

Clearly one version has more style and the other has more substance.

Oh, I miss Rhys! There's a Rhys this year too, but his name is Danny. He's not *quite* as much of a Personality though, but he is a sweet little supergay boy with a 'hawk who's pared with an adorable innocent little brunette. :-)

The style! From that clip you sent me - of Katee and Will!

THIS is the way their choreographers wanted them to dance their choreography! Wow, these dancers are like a technically souped-up + infinitely more practiced (hence more controlled) version of Katee and Will... fwah. I could watch them go on forever. Perfect music too.

Amazing.

I KNOW, RIGHT? And it's not even like Katee and Will were BAD! They did such a great job! But this is, well, the pros we're talking about here :-) I'm particularly enamoured of the guy in this piece and the way he moves. Also DID YOU SEE when the girl skids across the stage EN POINTE at 2:40?! That's like a heel slide, except... it's a pointe slide. Sicktastic.

(for those of you who have no idea what we're talking about above wrt "Katee" and "Will": )
