Kibum dumped his sandwich onto the table and planted himself between Shiwon and Kyuhyun. A hum played on his lips as he snapped the tab of the slim can open.
“Since when did you drink coffee?” Shiwon asked incredulously at the choice of beverage. Kyuhyun looked away from whatever he was immersed in and raised an eyebrow.
“Since when did you hum?” he said watching him as though he had gone slightly unhinged.
Kibum didn’t reply them but instead took a careful sip letting the cool drink wash his taste buds. He cringed. It was bitter at first taste that his first instinct was to spit it out, but then he detected a sweetness underlying the flavor.
The mixture of strong and mild flavors created a rich combination which he soon learned to savor with each sip and his eyes travelled to the one table across the linoleum floor, eyeing the one boy who had crept into his mind leaving an imprint in his brains.
Yesung was laughing at what his friend had said, his little eyes crinkling bright with amusement. Kibum thinks the drink suited him well.
“You like him don’t you?” Kyuhyun asked, his voice low not wanting to draw Shiwon’s attention who doesn’t believe in a same sex relationship.
‘No, I love him,’ his mind answered.
“Who?” he then feigned ignorance biting into his sandwich drawing his sight away from the older boy.
“That sunbae with the long fringe,” he stated and sighed running a frustrated hand through his long locks before dropping his head onto the round table top with a soft ‘thud’.
“How does one goes after a boy anyway?” he muttered almost inaudibly. Kibum glanced at his young friend seeming unnaturally subdued. What’s his problem anyway? And found his eyes at that table again without meaning to.
He sort of panicked when Yesung was no longer sitting there. He quickly scanned the area catching him leave through the east wing. It deflated his mood as he chewed the now tasteless sandwich mechanically and washed it down with the last gulp of his coffee.
Kyuhyun sighed again from beside him, his position never changing.
You want to know how does a boy go after another boy?” Kibum asked drawing Kyuhyun’s interest, turning his head slightly as a sign he was listening.
“You just go ahead and do the chasing,” Kibum told him with a grin and sprinted off towards the east wing.
Kibum slowed to a stop in the deserted corridors, mesmerized by the sight of the sun showering him with golden lights, sitting quietly in an alcove of a tall window, reading the back of a book. It was breathtaking.
“Don’t you know that it’s rude to stare?” Yesung said bringing him out of his enthrall.
“Hi,” Kibum greeted him as he approached.
“Hey,” he replied watching him with a smile as he tucked the book back into his bag and leaned into the window.
“Well? What is it?” Yesung prodded him after a few moments of silently watching each other. Kibum let out a shaky breath, running his hand through his hair. He didn’t know why, it wasn’t like him to be nervous.
“You want to catch a movie after school?” he asked forcing himself not to look away and to just stay cool.
“You’re asking me out on a date?” Yesung lift an eyebrow apparently amused and laughed that husky laughter.
“I thought I’d already told you that I like soft flesh not hard planes,” he said, hopping off the alcove and started walking away.
“Not after last night,” Kibum stated and Yesung gave a burlesque ‘tchah’ smirking over his shoulder. “Shall I plead temporary insanity then?”
Kibum caught his elbow, pushing him to another alcove and Yesung looked startled suddenly finding himself trapped between his arms. He chose this moment to touch him again, dragging his nails down the smaller boy’s side, feeling his body heat through the thin fabric of his uniform, fanning his fingers across the small of his back.
“You sure about that?” Kibum asked and pulled him closer. Yesung regard him coolly but his mouth curved devilishly.
“You sure you can handle me?” he challenged and quickly turned away just like the night before. Kibum smiled against that ear, nipping at the very same spot, feeling his pulse quicken.
“You think I can’t?” he whispered.
“Don’t tease your sunbae,” Yesung pushed him. Kibum caught his hands bringing them down and back, capturing him in his arms again.
“Then stop teasing me.”
“Oppa!” Kibum closed his eyes briefly at the familiar voice turning to the pretty and petite girl he dated a few months back.
“I’m no longer interested Hanuel, stop pestering me,” he told her coldly.
“I’m not looking for you either, you bastard,” she told him as coldly, her eyes taking in their intimacy.
“Don’t hold him like that!” she screeched trying to push him away.
“Stop it Hanuel,” Yesung told her wearily. Kibum swerved around to the older boy confused.
“But Yesung oppa!” she protested her grip on his arm tightening positively fuming.
“You’ve already lost the privilege of calling me that, love.” Love? Kibum stared at him, stunned by the revelation.
“Don’t say that oppa,” she pleaded her hands falling to her sides, her doe eyes widening with shock and hurt. “Tell me what I can do to have you back!”
“There’s nothing you can do Hanuel. You’ve had your chance,” Yesung said and her eyes swiveled back to him shooting a look of hatred.
“Why is he holding you that way oppa?” Yesung smirked releasing his hands from his loosening grip and wound it around his neck.
“What does it look like?”
“You’re lying,” she said shaking her head in denial full of disbelieve. Kibum watched his mouth curved into a slow smile and pulled him down kissing him softly on his lips.
He tasted so sweet but he felt his heart breaking as he heard Hanuel broke into sobs as she ran away. The kiss lasted a few seconds longer and when they broke apart, he felt the back of his eyes prickled with tears.
“Don’t take it to heart. It was just to spite her,” Yesung said and he squeezed past him walking away.
“Was that to spite me too?” Kibum called out watching him stop.
“Looks like games over,” he replied not turning to look at him.
“You’re cruel.”
“I never gave you the notion that I’m nice,” Yesung said turning his head slightly and resumed walking. It was hard hearing him say those words. It was even harder watching him leave that he raced after and spun him around slamming him to a wall.
“Why?” Kibum hissed angrily digging his nails into his arms making the other boy cringe.
“Why do you do this to me?” and Yesung smirked staring at him with an unreadable expression.
“Maybe because like them, I hated you for stealing my girlfriend,” he replied. Kibum clenched his jaws. He wanted to hurt him so much, to make him beg for forgiveness for making him this way. For making him, want more than just causal flings, for wanting to give instead of receiving, for making him think of him every waking moment, for wanting to own his soul.
He looked down to him and crashed his lips, plundering his tongue through the unsuspecting lips. Yesung let out a whimper of surprise, his little hands clutching the front of his shirt trying to fight him off.
Kibum held on tighter pinning him to the wall, letting him taste his anger and desire that was rolled into one. Biting and licking that honeyed lips until he could taste blood in his mouth mingling with their saliva.
Let me steal your every breath he thought as he felt Yesung going limp, lost in their heated kiss. Kibum rest his head against his, wiping the blood that trickled down Yesung’s chin.
“I’ve fallen for you,” he whispered and finally released him, walking away without turning back not seeing the older boy crumpling to the floor, hiding his face into his drawn up knees.
