i posted my last post on IUP's livejournal site as well and got a suprising number of people supporting this ban. this was my response that also addresses some of my friend's reactions

Meh, that's like saying they had no hand in getting addicted in the first place. The addicted always have to shoulder some of the blame for their addiction

oh no. you did not come off sounding like a jerk at all. i was just suprised how many people on IUP's livejournal were for the ban. barely anybody spoke up in defense of the smokers. it was very off-putting!

and thing are well. i work too much. but i'm making lots of monies :)

I was surprised by my own reaction, too, so I started up a discussion via email with Nurse Jess, who said many of the same things you did. :)

Woo for monies! I would like some more, myself. Monies. Mmm.
