It was a Nightmare Before Christmas ATP for us this year. Curators were Les Savy Fav, Battles and Caribou and the venue was Butlins Minehead. I'm back to reading the Bible, with quite a few thoughts on the first book of Samuel. Previous installments of the exciting Biblical saga can be found here1 Samuel is a slightly frustrating book. Nick complains his girlfriend washes up like a cargo cult. She's seen people put dirty dishes into water and they come out clean, but she doesn't understand the principles. So when she washes up she follows the superficial form, without really understanding how cleaning works, and the dishes stay dirty.

In between everything that has been going on, Amy and I lost track of just how long it was since her (six-month) visa was granted. When we realised, she had three weeks to apply for a new one (or technically, I think, a change in status).
