I love this video but it's so bittersweet because I put money into No to Prop 8 and hoped that it would go into showing the humanity side of this hateful proposition.
But I saw nothing like this. There was one video shown once in a while showing a bride hitting every obstacle possible on the way to her wedding which was a good video to try to connect straight couples to the plight of gay couples. But then I was BOMBARDED by the Yes campaign using children to scare people. It made me want to vomit.
I wanted to throw things at my tv everytime, screaming about how it is about the children and letting them know they can grow up and be as normal or as crazy as their goals led them. They deserve all the rights everyone has and grow up knowing that just because they are gay doesn't mean they are second class citizens.
The newest NOM video with the "confused" children infuriates me like nothing else.
Yes! I totally agree. All these videos and outrage and stuff happened after Prop 8's passing and I was thinking "uh, isn't it too late?" I guess people in California took it for granted. I mean, it's California! How can gay marriage fail? But it did. And plus they underestimated the Mormons and the anti-gay segments of the black community.
Next week the California Supreme Court will make a decision. Let's hope that it settles this for good.
