Hundreds more channels and nothing to watch

The internal TV aerial we'd been using gave up on the last remaining spot where we could still get a signal, so a nice man is coming to install Freesat for us next week. We get two hundred and forty channels and I don't really want any of them but still, it is free, the nice people assured me ... and what kind of incomparable titmonkey markets a ( Read more... )

Chinese news? At some point you should get CCTV-9.

Look at this list; you ought to eventually get every channel marked "Free-to-air". Technically there's no reason why you can't pick every free-to-air channel up with your Freesat kit, it's just that they're not available directly through the EPG, and Freesat "adding channels" really consists of Freesat showing more of what's available out there. You can always get CCTV-9, or any other free-to-air channel, by manually tuning it yourself.

Incidentally, ponder this. How come you can get Dave on Freeview but not on Freesat? Hopefully this will change before long, but...

Stupid rights issues.
