Well the snowbirds are bringing it down with them too as since December Charlotte County's numbers have almost doubled what it had been over the last year and the death rate has gone up even more. The inspector was here yesterday to check out my A/C unit. He was not happy. They didn't put a long enough condensation pipe on, had not upgraded the circuit for the heating element and worst of all secured it only to a lightweight platform but NOT hurricane strapped it to the pavement. I have a new 2 1/2 ton central heat and air conditioning unit. It was installed two days ago and just in time as yesterday was cold, damp and windy with wind chills in the upper 40s during the day and down to the upper 30s last night. I have the new hot water heater. It's great to be able to have warm showers and to use the dishwasher again instead of doing it the old fashioned way in the sink. I will finally have hot water again this week The new water heater is scheduled to be installed Friday. Can't wait to take a hot shower again. It wasn't bad this summer as the water then comes out of the pipes more than lukewarm but now is is damned cold. Not looking forward to late spring as I still have to get the air conditioner fixed.
