Okay...

I now have the maille the way I want it. I have the hemp canvas aketon. I have most anything I need to pull off as authentic a portrayal as I can. Now, I need to start showing up to practice more regularly.

Problems:

1. Spouse doesn't enjoy SCA, unless it's with my knight's household

That's part of the problem--albeit a fairly major part.

There are some extenuating circumstances that both of us have dealt with (the details of which I'll happily tell you of, offline.

Suffice it to say, I miss going to weekly practices. I also miss my SCA friends. But it's like I say about being a soldier in today's U. S. Army; "One has to balance one's patriotism against one's tolerance for bullsh*t".

Sometimes, you wonder how it stacks so high.
