Was not able to change the tire myself.  I did get the spare out from under the car, which was an accomplishment in itself, but I couldn't get the lug nuts loosened.  I gave up and have called AAA.  They're on their way, but figured I'd update while I was waiting ( Read more... )

Just walked outside to get in the car and head to work and my back passenger side tire is flat.  Fun, huh?  Glad I checked.  Yesterday after work, it was low so when I stopped to get gas I put some air in it, but that only held it long enough for me to get home.  I actually should have checked it before bed last night, or even when I woke up this ( Read more... )

Day one, a success.  I wasn't starving all day.  I definitely could have eaten more, but that's how I got this way.  And dinner tonight was the yum!  I made beef stroganoff over egg noodles and broccoli.  These recipes in the book I have are for one, so it's perfect...no leftovers.  I'm not a leftover tpye person so that works well for me ( Read more... )

I'm starting a new "diet", although I hesitate to call it that.  It's going to have to be a different way of looking at food.  It's from Curves, and it really looks workable.  The first 7 days is Phase 1 and I can only have 1200 calories.  Then for the next 23 days (Phase 2) it goes up to 1500 calories.  Phase 3 is for 2-4 weeks and I have 2000 ( Read more... )

Well, I've had better days and am glad this one is over.  It started off this morning when I was late to work.  I've been really good all week and have been on time, something I'm trying really hard to work on.  Traffic is horrible down the major highway I have to travel down, and I am not a morning person and those two things add up to "late".  ( Read more... )

I've apparently spent the whole day today with no phone and didn't know it.  My doorbell rang tonight at 9:00 and about scared me to death.  I don't usually get any visitors, much less that late.  It was my dad and he said mom had sent him down to check on me.  She'd been trying to call me all day and couldn't get in touch with me.  I was surprised ( Read more... )

Apparently girl kitty is in heat.  Boy kitty has been neutered, but that doesn't stop him from mounting her every chance he gets.  Oh the sounds!  When I got them in November, my friend told me that she'd had the boy kitty neutered, but had not had the girl kitty spayed.  I knew I needed to have that done, but frankly haven't had the money and so ( Read more... )

I got this through e-mail a few days ago and thought it was funny.  Since I don't get the Washington Post, no clue if it's true, but it sounds like something a well-known paper would do.  It's funny whether it's true or not.
