An old friend departs

I lost one of the best friends and companions a guy could want today. Nadine developed severe jaundice and was beyond anything that could help. At 21 years - she was a very old but dear friend. She was one fantastic cat. We knew she couldn't last much longer. At 21 years she had a very good and long life.

Oh, sad to hear. It's really tough losing a long term friend like that.

That photo reminds me of our Marley who passed a couple of years ago. I loved that cat dearly and still think about him every single day.

She was such a great cat. She was rescued from a box on the side of the road.

Marley was a dumpster kitty. I swear, the best pets are ones who were abandoned or homeless. *sighs*

Very saddened to hear of the death of Nadine.

That our pets have long and happy lives and bring us great joy never lessens the pain when they die, and in some cases adds to it - but it is some comfort in that it indicates how meaningful their existence.

Thanks old friend. I miss her a lot. Every time I go in that room and she, and her mat, aren't there.
