Rule #1: Leaving $2.00 every time you go out to eat is UNACCEPTABLE. This is not the 60’s, the cost of living has gone up, and a $2.00 tip is insulting, especially on those larger checks ( Read more... )

Ha, I challenge you to wait tables and NOT complain about the morons who have the cajones to leave $2 on $30. Yeah, that happened to me today.

Oh goodness, hearing all this is making me nervous!! I just got a job as a server (for the very first time!!) at Mojito's, a nice Spanish tapas restaurant in Louisville. Should be interesting because I'm pretty much the only English speaking person who will be working there.

Sorry you had a bad night at work.

Oh, I didn't write this! I found it on the internet and thought it was the most honest thing written about tipping.

Good luck with serving. It can be a great job and you can make tons of money, but too often I get people who don't know how to tip. Still, I wouldn't give up this job as long as I'm in college. It's a love/hate relationship...

Somebody randomly brought in a menu from Sea Watch today. It's expensive!!! Do you make good money there? Ever since I got a job at JMarks I can't believe I ever worked in that shithole Hops.

The money's alright. we get sooo many frenchies though!

but I'm right there with ya. when I have a REALLY bad night, I just think to myself, holy shit, this was GREAT at hops!
