My lappy sploded again. :( I fell asleep with it on my lap and I rolled over and it fell on the floor and the side cracked and its guts came out and then the speakers stopped working and everything was terrible. It's my fault, but also it's just getting to that age where euthanasia is the kindest option

Yikes! It's definitely distressing to hear that your laptop failed on you again. And it's also sad that you couldn't get a replacement at any time soon. :(

Regarding the spam comments, it seems that several people (including me) are getting them lately. All I do when it comes to them is delete their crap and ban those accounts from my journal.

Sorry to hear that, Toast. Mac users got a raw deal regarding TS2, I hope you figure out a way to sort it all out.

Ugggh, yes, HATE the invasion of the LJ spambots! I ended up disabling anonymous comments (no loss, since I never got legit ones anyway...) and "spammed" LJ notifications in my email.

I'm guessing all of your games are in MAC form? PCs still work for sims2. I hope you can figure it all out!

Sorry to hear about your laptop. :(

I think Prof uses a partition to run her Sims on her Mac. Not sure if that's an option for you and a new system, but she could probably tell you all about it. Of course, it would mean buying all the games in PC form, but I think you can get them relatively cheap off of the web now.

Can you install an older OS on a new laptop? Don't know about the Mac types, but us PC-users just call that "Tuesday."

Yeah, you can. You can create a partition or use mirroring software to run Snow Leopard or Windows, but that would require someone more awesome than me to know how.
