there have been many terrible episodes of 7th heaven this season (and every season before), but one of the worst was probably the darfur episode. the only redeeming part was the conversation between two characters, that went, and i quote, (well, para-quote), "well, there's mazon, the jewish response to world hunger." "don't they just feed jews?" "the jews know about suffering." "oh yeah."

so, mazon got a shout-out on 7th heaven :)

That's neat?

But Mazon *certainly* doesn't give exclusively to Jews. Their one sentence Who-We-Are reads MAZON allocates donations from the Jewish community to prevent and alleviate hunger among people of all faiths and backgrounds.

yeah, that was the point, that they *don't* just give to jews. it was just a weird speech (one i didn't quote well). those were teenagers conversing about what they could do to help the situation in darfur.

Got it. And found the clip. Neat. Here's how it went:

- And there's lots of organizations that we can choose from....
- You know, I saw this Jewish organization call Mazon, it seemed pretty good. It's the Jewish response to world hunger. I wonder though, if it's a Jewish organization, why wouldn't they just help Jewish people?
- You think the Jewish people don't know about genocide? This is genocide.
- Right. Got it.
