Question:
Does the type of person you are, as assessed by those higher end personality tests change very much over time?

I find myself constantly trying to surround myself by friends and family lately. I am not sure if this is because I know I will be leaving relatively soon, or if I am trying to hide from something.

From what I've heard (and experienced), tests like the Meyers-Briggs do change over time for some people, as people change and acquire new experiences and skills and even values. I think I've heard that the first and last letters (that is, the introvert/extrovert and the perceiving/judging) are the most likely to change, with the middle letters (intuitive/sensing and thinking/feeling) more likely to remain a steady core...but I could be wrong. Or, it could all just be a bunch o'letters meaning not all that much at all!
Why do you ask?

I tested as an introvert back in college, and that made sense because those times when I was surrounded by people, 24 hours a day for a week or more really started to drive me batty. Perhaps I have not been in nearly as intense situations lately, but I definitely seem to be more drawn to people lately. Almost anxious when I can't find people to be around. It's weird.
