Manhattan? Say 'hi' to the Times Square subway station for me :-) Or, I suppose, the meeting of the A and 1 at 168th, if by chance that's closer.

I will say hi to the Times Square station for you, and possibly the other one should I work up the gumption to head up to Washington Heights.. I've read that Inwood Hill Park, nearby, is the only place on the island where the original landscape and forest still exists, and for a while I've been meaning to go up there.

I believe an aunt of mine used to live up around 183rd or so (yes, almost all of my NYC geographical knowledge is based on the subway system; looking at it on Google Maps, I can't orient myself at all). I recall her saying that there's a rocky protrusion in a park around there that's the highest point on the island. Dunno if that's true or not, though.
