Where: Wayne Manor

Oh, dear.Zatanna briefly glanced around the room, wincing when the worst of her suspicions was confirmed. She wrinkled her nose slightly and glanced down at her hands, which were now small and furry, but thankfully no less dexterous. She still ( Read more... )

At least it was familiar. Lex shook himself several times and had already started grooming his tail before he snapped out of it.

Zatanna's spell had apparently granted them some kind of small-scale telepathy, which was infinitely better than last time he had been a cat.

< So, out of curiousity, have you ever had a spell go correctly? >

Zatanna bowed her head slightly, acknowledging the point.

< I have, yes. And you can thank Mr. Wayne for this. It's his birthday, and he's the who suggested I let you revisit your cat form. I just... should have been a little more careful in my wording. >

Zatanna simply shrugged off the fact that she and Lex could apparently communicate with nothing more than a thought, well accustomed by now to her spells having unintended consequences.

< Don't worry, I'll work it out. I can still hold a wand, after all. >

< Why do you still have your hat? > Lex couldn't really scowl anymore, but he did his best approximation. < That's not fair at all. I want a cat-sized Blackberry, in that case. Also, a suit. And a little tie. >

Zatanna, who had been anticipating Luthor's formidable anger, smiled in relief.

< I could try if you really wanted...? Although I'm not actually positive I've retained my abilities. Let's see. >

Zatanna whipped her wand somewhat clumsily through the air, frowning (as much as she could) when it released only a weak shower of sparks.

< I think that's all I'll be able to manage for a while. It takes a tremendous amount of magical energy to change one person, much less an entire household. I really am very sorry. >

She bowed her small, furry head and curled clawed fingers around her wand nervously.

Bruce was very resentful. It wasn't so bad that he was a cat, except that, as far as he could tell, he was now only sexually compatible with Lex. He didn't see why Harvey couldn't be a cat as well. Not only that, but he was now covered in gray hair. Goddammit, I wasn't supposed to get gray hair for at least another ten, fifteen years.

He tried to glare at Zatanna, but instead of his eyes doing anything interesting, his ears merely lie flat on his head. Walking over to the nearest table, he started rubbing the top of his head against it insistently.

Harvey was aware of one thing, and one thing only. He was happy. Obnoxiously, euphorically happy. He knew this because he was panting, lips stretched into a wide smile which bared an impressed set of long teeth, and because his tail wouldn't stop wagging. The fact that he found himself in possession of a tail would normally have been a cause for concern, but Harvey was far too happy to care. He was also extremely energetic, even more so than when he hadn't been taking his medicine for months on end.

< Bruce, Lex, Zatanna, hi! > he called in rapid succession. He spotted a small, gray cat rubbing itself against the furniture, and instantly knew it to be his boyfriend. Only Bruce would be that shameless, he thought fondly.

He bounded over to the cat and begin to nudge it insistently with his snout.

< Harvey, what the hell are you doing? You're making me all wet, and not in a good way. >

Bruce shied away, bounding between Harvey's front legs and to the side to escape. He then lifted his leg to scratch behind his ear. He had always wanted to be able to try that. It felt absurdly good. Bruce looked over at Harvey.

< Don't say a thing. >

Harvey merely tilted his head to the side, staring blankly at Bruce. He was experiencing a strange, somewhat troubling urge to chase the small, furry creature before him. He ignored the urge and forced himself to crouch on all fours, grinning at Bruce happily.

< Bruce, you're a cat. > he said stupidly, adjusting his paws so that he could rest his head on them.

< I'm a dog, aren't I? I feel like I'm a dog. > He sprang up and jaunted over to the Bruce cat, kneeling so that they were nose-to-nose.

< Boo! >

The most distressing thing had been realizing that she didn't have hands anymore. Leland had spent several minutes flailing awkwardly, trying to reach forward and getting herself very ruffled. Eventually, though, she had managed to come to grips with the situation.

Namely, that she was a parrot of some kind. She had managed to flutter her way up to a mirror (flying was surprisingly easy. She apparently had the instincts of a bird now) and could hardly believe what she saw. A small, green parrot stared back at her, hopping this way and that. Hesistantly, she pecked at the mirror, and leapt back in alarm as it cracked a little. I'll just pretend that didn't happen, she thought.

Suddenly, a large golden retriever bounded down the hallway, tail wagging energetically. Leland took to the air immediately and circled it. She had a feeling she knew who that was.

< Harvey? Is that you? >

The golden retriever narrowed its eyes at Leland, baring its teeth slightly.

< Who- Oh. Joan? >

Two-Faced paused, cocking his head to the side and studying the small bird with a mixture of predatory hunger and curiosity.

Leland landed on the top shelf of a bookcase and looked down at the dog suspiciously.

< Two-face? What in the world is Harvey doing letting you be in charge? You could hurt someone! >

She ruffled her feathers irritably.

< It's been a while, okay? It's not always within our control, Joan > Two-Face snapped, growling slightly. The bird was annoyingly out of reach, and seemed to him to be rather smug about it.

Two-Face tried his level best not to look threatening, and adopted Harvey's dumb grin with debatable success.

< Why don't you come down here, then? > he called feebly.

< I want to see what this spell has done to you. >

Oh, this was just not okay. Rao above, if she was going to have to be powerless, couldn't she have popped her cherry as a human at least? At least she'd have opposable thumbs.

Kara broke off her internal whine parade to take stock of the situation. She seemed to be in one piece, and healthy (if you could call being weak and limited by gravity healthy) as cats get. She rather wished she knew what she looked like, but was distracted by a smell that her new brain recognized-

Cat. Male- rival? Or mate. Kara resisted the pull of her distressingly loud animal instincts and managed to call out to the sound of soft paws.

< Hello? Who is that? >

< First Bruce, now you > Lex said, leaping down off the shelf he had been balanced on. < They'll let anyone be a cat these days. >

He flexed and unflexed his claws, staring down at the small, white and orange cat that Power Girl had become. This might be his best opportunity to attack her and get revenge on her for being incredibly irritating. It would be a furry, awkward revenge, but it would still be revenge.

Alternately, he could take a nap. It was a toss up, at the moment.

< At least I'm not gray, > she replied snottily- not cattily, because she still had self-respect and refused to think that way. < Some people still have taste. >

To even things out a bit, she jumped on the couch she had recently been sitting on. Lex really was astonishingly cute as a cat- if she was human, she would have picked him up and cuddled him, if only to see him scream in fury. As it was, she was torn between attacking him, licking his ears, and falling asleep where she sat.

< I don't suppose there's any catnip around, is there? I'm kind of curious about it. >

< Bruce is tragically lacking in catnip. Otherwise, I would already be rolling in it. >

Lex hopped onto the couch, and the two of them circled each other, a little warily. He really, really hoped it wasn't mating season for cats; there were probably more awkward scenarious possible, but none were springing to mind. Eventually, he settled on a pillow and tucked his tail around his legs.

< I'm thinking about challenging you to a duel of some kind. >

Thaddeus blinked slowly and deliberately, attempting to wrap his mind around the odd occurrence that had just happened. There he was, blazing across Gotham in a battle against insipid doppelganger when they had taken a detour through a mansion. The green speedster did not care who the manor belonged to, he was only concerned with the fact that he was apparently furry and three inches high.

< This... is peculiar... >

His mind felt slow yet fast at the same time, darting from thought to thought like it usually did but this was not nearly as focused as usual. Was this what Bart felt... like...like...? Where was Allen, anyway?

< Woah... >

That was all Bart could say at the sudden realization that he appeared to be three inches tall and covered in red fur. He scrambled about in an attempt to scout around the area, though it was hard when everything looked so... hungry. Bart suddenly felt very hungry. Like his stomach would implode if he - ooh Thad was there.

< Heeeeyyyy! > Bart shouted mentally toward the green hamster that he assumed was his clone. He didn't question the fact that he suddenly had telepathy, he was not even quite sure what the word meant. All he knew was that it was - Ooh, greeen hamster! POUNCE!
