It really does feel all kinds of awesome to be a part of history, to have been involved in one of the greatest historical events in American and even world history. I actually found myself getting emotional watching his victory speech. I loved that part of Obama's speech today. "Tonight I say to the American people, to Democrats and Republicans and independents across this great land - enough!" I'll admit, before I was a skeptical supporter, just as much against McCain as I was for Obama, which is not the way to vote. George Carlin is dead. Wow. Two men I greatly respected died within a little over a week of each other. And like each other, both men had a big impact on my life and my way of thinking: Russert with his political savvy and insight, and Carlin for his wit and philosophy. Tim Russert, host of Meet the Press, passed away last night on set. In my own humble opinion, he was the best interviewer on TV today, and one of the all-time best. I gained quite a bit of my knowledge of politics and current events from watching his show on Sunday mornings (which, coincidentally, is often the reason why I was late to DnD when we ( Read more... )
