Do you care about books? Do you read? Do you like using the library? Do you enjoy buying books? Do you think kids should be encouraged, heck, allowed to read?
Then read these twolinks. Because it's important and this law is ridiculous.
Making these testing regulations retroactive would require both school and public libraries to take drastic steps to come into compliance. They either would have to ban children from their libraries or pull every book intended for children under the age of 12 from their bookshelves at the time children are fostering a lifelong love of learning and reading.
Repeat: What the hell is this?? What is wrong with people? D:
I am appalled by this, just appalled. I'm not in the know of exactly what lead has to do to harm someone--is it absorbed by touching it? do you have to lick it? inhale while in the general vicinity?--but I really doubt that a small amount of lead in ink that is printed on paper would harm anyone. What the fuck, people? What the ever-loving fuck?
This is absolutely absurd. I was reading about how this may affect thift shops as well, because no way can they afford to test all the used children clothing either.
