Actually, that was a Cagiva Gran Canyon, not a V-strom.
And the shots are a little deceiving, because they're all from different stretches of trail/road.
The Gran Canyon guy got rescued from the mud pretty quickly, though it took 3-4 people to move the beast. The folks in the last picture are waiting for people to finish a different piece of trail from the other pictures. That bit of trail had a nice muddy uphill climb, and a rocky descent down the other side.
This is why one never rides terrain like that alone. :-)
For this ride, we were never more than 2-3 miles away from a major road or civilization. "Middle of nowhere" in northwestern CT and southwestern MA isn't too remote.
My cellphone even had signal in the middle of the woods. :-)

If it was about 3:30-4 or so in the afternoon, I was damp, cold, and glad to be back home. So my brain was a little preoccupied either way. :-)

When are you getting a dirt-capable bike? It's like mountain biking, only with a motor to get you up the hills! ;-)

My new fear (remarkably similar to my old fear) is that you are going to kill yourself.
The new part is, now there is potential to do it quite far from trailhead/definitive medical care.
Please be careful!
