You know, I had someone on my list who got complaints about that exact same thing the other day, for the exact same reason, since he posts embedded video constantly. He responded with "Sorry, I'm trying to post at least one video per day. I'll make a video just for you if that makes you feel better. :)" ...I sort of wanted to smack him on the poor dial-up user's behalf.

Instead I told him about the lj-cut tag and linked him to an FAQ, and he was like "Well, video was meant to be embedded, and so if people don't want to see embedded video, they should make a custom friends view so they don't see my entries by default." :P I refrained from saying "Or they could do that the easier way and defriend you."

I don't know what happened to common sense on the net. ...Oh wait. :P

that's fucked up. But I don't understand how he's posting videos that automatically play, and why the other guy isn't using video/image placeholders. I used to use placeholders all the time b/c I was afraid of something naughty coming up on my f-list while I checked LJ at work.
