i wrote a poem on the train. raw at first, but ultimately with lots of scribbles & scrawls & arrows involved. still simple, though. i'm almost satisfied with the end result & i could imagine it aloud. if i get the courage, i'll read it at this open mic thing on saturday ( Read more... )

because i actually like it, hah. i always post things i think are okay, because then i can understand the criticism. i'm ridiculous. maybe i will, though.

best way to end shyness like that is to go and read the poem, I reckon. I've spent (perhaps too many) years in bands, and whilst performing always brings a certain fright, the sense of completion and joy afterwards is amazing. Go on! Do it! What's the worst that can happen?

i just envision this scenario where i get drunk beforehand just so i have the balls to go up there, and then i go up there & puke all over the stage & fall off. the end.

i really need to get over it, hah.
