Prospects have not been good. I've gotten the recruiter vultures, that descend upon me everytime a job opens up with a "Flash" or  "Flex" buzzword, and its just a waste of time.

I am trying to decide what to do. Everyday I check the job boards and it's a veritable wastleland. Somewhere along the line, the term "Graphic Artist" was merged with the duties of a developer. Now everyone wants a hybrid... someone who can design their crappy little applications and code them. Wasn't it enough for us to make it look good?

So I was called into my boss's office. He informs me that "we want to make you a contractor. we don't have many graphic processes here, and there isn't justification for a full time position. So we want to divide the work, when we have it, between 3rd party contractors. I don't think we'll have 40 hours a week for you... but there is a possibility ( Read more... )
