I just couldn't get away from taking this one literally, even though I want to use idol to hone fiction this time. Apparently I don't want it enough. Or maybe it's more the fault of this crazy week where I barely had time to write, much less ponder and get psyched on a fiction idea. And the literal take was screaming at me. I hope I brought something different to it, at least!
Of course you did. Besides, there's nothing wrong with writing in the same general area as other people. Think of how many love poems have been written! You did an excellent job, especially with your week.
The dessert can be so beautiful! I'd love to spend more time in New Mexico. My best dessert connections are the Moab area and Tucson and Red Rock Canyon outside Las Vegas and the high dry of southwestern Colorado. But my realest deepest connections are here in the Southeast along the swampy gulf coast.
I have a connection to the woods and lakes of Minnesota I lived in Colorado for 10 years and never felt a connection to the dry mountain region I lived in. So as soon as I could I moved back to Minnesota. Hope you have wonderful time on your climbing trip.
Water is so vital! I can understand. I think that perhaps I err on the side of loving all the places. Just maybe not quite as much as I love my humid gulf coast.
When the topic came out, I thought of you actually. This has a beautiful message which needs to be re-told. I like the idea of being connected and having a relationship with a place. I'll surely check those book out. Thanks . A good take!
