And you came from Cali, right? So that isn't even a hugely humid starting point. I love Colorado, but my skin hates it. I feel like I would have the leathery equivalent of a permanent deep water tan within a year if I ever moved there.
I think you are right. People do have a connection to the outdoors. In fact the act of looking at pleasant scenery and just being outside is proven to lower BP and lessen depression.
I've yet to be to the Grand Canyon. I did spend a month in the deserts of Cali and Nevada. Calico hills and the Rainbow Mountains of the canyon range there were beautiful, but I sorely missed my trees.
I agree completely! And feel that this connection is missing for many modern humans and it is a terrible and tragic loss. The earth is our mother and the sky our father and we are living in the place between....Hiking and camping are such a good way to connect back to place. And create body memories, reptilian brain memories. Smells, feels, sounds.
