A very strong continuation. Your descriptions here are totally vivid and I could feel myself on that water in that boat!

Thank you kindly! I'm sitting in some fairly oppressive poolside humidity at this very moment and thinking about the next installment. Hopefully I'll get back to it soon.

Jim seems like such a nice guy but what happened? I'm looking forward to more about these two.

Yes, I've got to get us back to the real mystery here! What was bad enough to bring the hit men out? Weaving the whole thing may be a task that requires greater freedom than Idol prompts and Idol length pieces, but when I make progress with it I will definitely share with folks here.

I like this sober transitional piece. It really allows the characters some breathing room to process their sudden involvement. Not every moment can be storms, jumps, escapes, and showers, and I think you struck the perfect mood shift before getting to the heaviness of Jim's past.

Gracias, mon ami! It's really fun to have this thing going in the background of my imagination again.

Another great addition!! When you say this is the last installment, do you mean the latest or that this is the end?? I only ask because I really want to know more!! I love the setting you built up. It really made me visualize the two of them. This was such an awesome piece!! ❤️❤️

Thanks! They'll be back- this is just the latest installment in the timeline! I should clarify that. I'm glad they came through in your mind's eye. I'm getting fairly attached to them. I need to give their full story a fighting chance.

She seems to have met a really interesting character, and already I'm intrigued by whatever setup he has where they're going.

I'll admit, I would not be comfortable being shoeless for so long. You never know when you might want to run away from something!

That struck me as potentially problematic in this section, too! On the one hand, she was raised in rural Florida and could have an increased tolerance for that kind of thing especially in the face of other dangers, perhaps. On the other hand, nobody really lives like that anymore, even in the keys. Jim the drifter, maybe, but can it work without being to jarring for the main character? Something to ponder.
