This past summer and fall has been one of extreme heat and drought, only now giving over to the winter bluster and cold.

Well, today's forecast shows "another day of really hot weather" for the rest of the week... The injured rooster is working on a comeback. He has regained SOME use of his right leg and foot and is standing up and trying to walk some. We are keeping him separate from the other chickens and letting him out to play in a special pen we made as a "playpen" for the baby ducks and geese.  He seems to enjoy their company, but perhaps he is just ( Read more... )
