I read Atlas Shrugged in 2006, during a turbulent summer.  I was empowered by a strong, intelligent female character.  Finally someone wrote sci fi and and kinky romance right.  And its a dystopia novel, a formula I often enjoy.  This story's heroine inspired me to put myself first in relationships for once, and all of that turned out very well.   ( Read more... )

Thirlled that the the show went really well last night!  This time we were balanced right - you could hear the tracks, the guitar and vocals.

I love being a part time rockstar.  Yes - it is possible for one to be a part-time rockstar.   Yayyyyy performance high.  And lots of surprise friends came out to see it!

6:30 am. I take back what I said about that vintage pattern.  Dress looks horrible.  Ugh.  Looks like a frumpy witch costume or a black tent.   Spent all week on it too.  That's the risk of a dress you can't try on.  At least it didn't cost too much ( Read more... )

I HIGHLY recommend vintage patterns.

Yes, there are more difficult for having extra steps - like 14 loops for 14 buttons, but every seam will be covered, lined and enclosed.  No one assumes you have a serger, and you'll have a beautiful vintage garment when you are done.

I have also learned that simply adding 2 inches as the waistline of a pattern ( Read more... )
