The ATM is 40 years old today (Wednesday).
The first ATM was installed in Enfield, North London on June 27, 1967.
The first person to use the cash machine was, er, Reg Varney from the TV series "On the Buses".

I'm a big believer that we shouldn't patronise children, and particularly proud of the fact we are in the main a liberal, progressive, free-thinking country, etc. but I think sometimes things should be left to the imagination and don't need to be, er, put into such, er, detail, in particular on packaging...
