I've been to the States several times before, but I'm going on quite a limited trip and want to make the most of my time there. I'm also travelling with someone who has only been to Hawaii, so I don't want to waste her time in the places I've been to before ( Read more... )

i say do go to coney island. you get an awesome view from the wonder wheel, and you can get the original nathan's hot dogs. it was pretty dirty but they've cleaned it up a lot ever since luna park took over.

with that, if you do decide on coney island, take a trip to http://www.spumonigardens.com/ since you'll already be in brooklyn and it's a few stops away via train or bus and it's the best. pizza. evar. (square/sicilian slices)... also try their spumoni cuz they are the yums.

I'm from Florida. In Orlando, there's not much to do. You can go to the theme parks, check out the nightlife, eat at some non-touristy restaurants, but the only real allure of the town is the theme parks.

If you have access to a car, try to get out of the city and see things nearby. I second Cocoa Beach, and I'd also suggest St. Augustine - it's the oldest town in America, and most of the old structures are still standing in a pedestrian-only area of town filled with cute shops, restaurants, historical sights, etc. It's definitely a good day trip.

i'm born/raise/still living in the Bronx, NY but go to high school in the city (i'm a junior, so i definitely know my way around)

* don't visit Roosevelt Island lol. it's all apartment buildings (bascially) - one of my best friends lives there.
you can find the Balto statue if you enter the park on 67th Street & 5th Ave.
just follow the path straight up the hill & it's right before the tunnel.
* definitely go to the top of the Rockefeller Center building.
the view is absolutely breathtaking.
* DEFINITELY go to Coney Island!
* since you're going to WWOHP in Orlando (i've been: it was absolutely AMAZING.. probably going again this summer!), you might as well go see DanRad's show while you're here in NY!

other than that, if you don't want to go on a double decker or a ferry, there isn't much to do here. the nightlife is very good though (:

but keep in mind, when going to Coney, strictly stay to seeing the beach/boardwalk.
don't go in the water haha.
but Coney Island isn't the greatest neighborhood, so be very careful!

San Diego - Sea World! I may be biased because I use to work there, but it's always fun. If you're not a vegetarian, hit up Anthony's Grotto, it's on the bay and delicious and NOT going to kill your wallet like the $5 hot dogs at the convention center.
