I hate the HRC

I hate the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and their closet-case logo of the little yellow equal sign on the blue background and their name which doesn't even mention that they're about gay rights which is ridiculous because they are a single-issue group that doesn't care about anyone else's rights. That's pretty funny... they probably outsourced the calling. Back when the HRC used to have the letter "F" at the end of their acronym, the late writer Michael Botkin (one of the people who did the zine Diseased Pariah News) used to call them the Human Rights Champagne Fund.

I think "community" is what you make it.

"Community" can't just be based on the fact that we all like to put cock in our mouth.

I agree that the HRC is sounding awfully Republican, and I'm very suspicious of their usefulness.

I'm reminded of the case in my town of the local gay organization saying, in response to the murder of a local trans person in Toronto over Labour Day Weekend about 10 years ago, that it was not an issue of concern for the local gay community. Um, he was from here - had friends here - a local high school student ASKED them to make a statement...actually tried to donate money to the library of the organization, which they refused...
