[Rogue has spent this entire experiment week completely unaffected. If she were the kind of person inclined to use blackmail, that would be just peachy. Instead, after figuring out the theme, she's gone from resigned to amused to bitter in the blink of an eye. Kind of the Malnosso to remind her that fairy tales and happily ever afters just aren'

And Rogue slants him a sideways glance.]
You got that one right. I'll believe it when I see it.

He meets that sideways glance with a sly grin.]
Guess I'll jus' have to show you sometime, then.

Not interested. [...] An' there are plenty of people here ya don't wanna tick off by taking their stuff. Scratches I might be able ta handle, but you'd be lucky if ya got dropped off at the clinic.
[Because she wouldn't take him there if he was bleeding and dying and had things broken - of course not. He'd totally have to get there completely on her own. See how convincing she is in her nonchalant worried glance? ]

Far as I've found, there's not much here I'd bother anyone by stealin' anyway. No need to be draggin' me off to the clinic jus' yet.
[He's definitely way too amused here.]

Please. I'm not dragging you anywhere. You can do what ya like, I don't care.
[I don't care what you do.]

[That's why you're still huddled up in his coat like you own the thing, right? Not that he minds.
For the record, he's slowly leading them back towards the X-Men house. He picks things up, you know.]
'Sides, I never said it had to be you doin' the dragging. Don't those clinics have some kinda muscle to haul people in 'round here?

If they do, I don't know about it.
[Rogue avoids the clinic and the Med Lab. How is she going to explain to the doctors there that she can't be touched? She'd rather not put herself in their hands.]
People seem ta mostly care for their own around here. There are those groups around if someone really needs attention, but other'n that it's like the Hatfields an' the McCoys.

Prob'ly best that way anyway. We all got our own problems.

One thing's for sure, we've got more'n enough ta worry about without clan wars.
[If you look very closely, squint, and then turn sideways it may be possible to discern the faint outline of an olive branch here.]

[Despite the mild and off-handed tone, there's still some past irritation rankling beneath the surface. He's had more than his fill of clan wars, thanks. If there's one thing he doesn't begrudge Luceti, it's finally getting him a break from all of that back home.]

...walking isn't supposed to be this tiring.]
Can't give people too much credit for intelligence. But fortunately, most people around here don't seem willin' ta stir up that kinda trouble.
[So far.]

Small miracles, non? Nice t'get a bit of a break from it.

[...oh, it looks as though they're coming up on the X-House. She's not at all surprised that he knows where they live, but... Huh.]

And if it's any consolation, he hasn't abused the knowledge of where this house is yet. Just kept it filed away for future reference. Look how it comes in handy! Sort of.]

An' my perspective is that it sucks.
[She tries very hard not to start listing alphabetically why it sucks.]
