[ Action, Voice ] Seven of Diamonds

[Rogue has spent this entire experiment week completely unaffected. If she were the kind of person inclined to use blackmail, that would be just peachy. Instead, after figuring out the theme, she's gone from resigned to amused to bitter in the blink of an eye. Kind of the Malnosso to remind her that fairy tales and happily ever afters just aren' ( Read more... )

questions of no real importance, addressing the masses, today calls for chocolate, seriously? - just - seriously?, luceti is insane, just. peachy.

[With everything else happening this week, the thorn forest isn't much of a surprise. After all, it's been a full week of stuff out of kid's movies, so why not a massive tangle of thorns? It's familiar, but Gambit can't really put his finger on it ( ... )

[Then he can wear the skirt. 8|

And Rogue slants him a sideways glance.]

You got that one right. I'll believe it when I see it.

[He would not look good in the skirt. There is not much motivation to do this.

He meets that sideways glance with a sly grin.]

Guess I'll jus' have to show you sometime, then.

[She interprets that as an offer to demonstrate thievery around her.]

Not interested. [...] An' there are plenty of people here ya don't wanna tick off by taking their stuff. Scratches I might be able ta handle, but you'd be lucky if ya got dropped off at the clinic.

[Because she wouldn't take him there if he was bleeding and dying and had things broken - of course not. He'd totally have to get there completely on her own. See how convincing she is in her nonchalant worried glance? ]

[Rogue, that little spark of worry is going to encourage him way too much. You realize that, right?]

Far as I've found, there's not much here I'd bother anyone by stealin' anyway. No need to be draggin' me off to the clinic jus' yet.

[He's definitely way too amused here.]

[Action] that icon was meant to be this, but I suppose it works anyway! touchofrogue October 8 2011, 02:45:34 UTC
[3...2...1... huff.]

Please. I'm not dragging you anywhere. You can do what ya like, I don't care.

[I don't care what you do.]

'Course you don't.

[That's why you're still huddled up in his coat like you own the thing, right? Not that he minds.

For the record, he's slowly leading them back towards the X-Men house. He picks things up, you know.]

'Sides, I never said it had to be you doin' the dragging. Don't those clinics have some kinda muscle to haul people in 'round here?

[Hey, she's still huddled up in your coat because it's awesome. And conveniently hides her fairy tale state from him and everyone passing by. But mostly? Because it's a great coat.]

If they do, I don't know about it.

[Rogue avoids the clinic and the Med Lab. How is she going to explain to the doctors there that she can't be touched? She'd rather not put herself in their hands.]

People seem ta mostly care for their own around here. There are those groups around if someone really needs attention, but other'n that it's like the Hatfields an' the McCoys.

[It is an awesome coat. He loves that coat. Everyone should have such a great coat.]

Prob'ly best that way anyway. We all got our own problems.

[Like the various mutations. Somehow he doubts doctors from some other world would know how to approach any of them if their powers went out of control and they needed help.]

Maybe. [She's not exactly enthralled with the whole 'absolutely no law and order' bit - or the fact that there's no one to one to pick up and call if they run into trouble. Then again, as a mutant... she's kind of used to law and order being on everyone else's side. And there's never anyone else to call.]

One thing's for sure, we've got more'n enough ta worry about without clan wars.

[If you look very closely, squint, and then turn sideways it may be possible to discern the faint outline of an olive branch here.]

Funny how those never stop even when there's more'n enough to worry about already.

[Despite the mild and off-handed tone, there's still some past irritation rankling beneath the surface. He's had more than his fill of clan wars, thanks. If there's one thing he doesn't begrudge Luceti, it's finally getting him a break from all of that back home.]

[Sidelong glance. That hadn't exactly been what she was talking about, and Rogue well-remembers a certain trip down to New Orleans.

...walking isn't supposed to be this tiring.]

Can't give people too much credit for intelligence. But fortunately, most people around here don't seem willin' ta stir up that kinda trouble.

[So far.]

[Almost there. Gambit glances over at her from the corner of one eye, inwardly glad that it's not too much farther to get her home. Hopefully he won't have to face X-Man Rage at bringing her back in this shape.]

Small miracles, non? Nice t'get a bit of a break from it.

Sure. If ya call gettin' tripped out into fairy tales an' walkin' around under a giant glass bowl a 'break.'

[...oh, it looks as though they're coming up on the X-House. She's not at all surprised that he knows where they live, but... Huh.]

All a matter of perspective, chere. [Although that snark earns a smile.

And if it's any consolation, he hasn't abused the knowledge of where this house is yet. Just kept it filed away for future reference. Look how it comes in handy! Sort of.]

[She pulls his coat a little tighter around her. She can not wait to get out of this dress. She can't believe the way this whole thing has turned out and the memory of their kiss is proving slippery to suppress.]

An' my perspective is that it sucks.

[She tries very hard not to start listing alphabetically why it sucks.]
