Well, I think I've told all of you that I do the trap/neuter/release thing with the ferals in my neighborhood. And, Thursday night, I caught my 11th cat. I had my sights set on a yellow and white one that I call "Yogurt," but I settled for a huge, long-haired, black male that I have named Navarre (after Rutger Hauer's character in "Ladyhawke"). I was in jr. high when his "Ten Commandments" came out. It was the first of what have been two movies in my life so far that, the morning after seeing them, immediately popped into my head upon awakening. (The other was the first "Godfather").

The community theatre is doing three of my one-act plays. I directed one and my husband directed the other two. We are halfway through the run and it's been a nice ride. Two of my grandkids just went back home after a week's visit. As I always do when I know they are coming, I went by the Dollar Store and grabbed a couple of new toys so they'd have them when they got here. It started me thinking. My childhood took place in the 40s and the toys were less . . . frantic.
