Brigits Flame Week One: First Impressions

First time back in the contest in a very long time ... and it shows. Not my best writing, AND the prompt is a bit of a stretch.

I LOVE Boots and Hearts. Love them. You can bring them back as often as you want and I will NEVER be tired of them. And I love that their friendship started out this way from the first words they said to each other...

Wow, this is so adorable! I think this may be the first thing with them I read. Once it got into it I felt like your writing was really warming up; the part where the other kids were haranguing him was really well-done. And the way you write those two is so CUTE! Well done, my friend. :)

Yeah, my writing is super rusty so I'm not surprised it took a moment before the gears shifted. But I'm glad the characters managed to shine through clearly. These two are easily some of my favorite characters to write about. I love everything about them and the world they live in.

If you're curious for more on them, click the brigits_flame tag in my profile and look for a piece called The Last of the Unplucked Gems. That's the very first piece with them in it (it's broken into 4 parts) and it's one of my most favorite stories to date. I'm trying to steer things back into the direction that story took ... but it's a work in progress since it's been so long.

Hearts is adorable as well. :) She's so cute sticking up for him like that!

HAHAHA! Here's something funny for you: when these two first popped into my head, by first thought was, "Liliy's gonna dore Boots, I just know it." *grins*

And trees are VERY fashionable. They change their clothing with every season. *nods*

Lovely kids... this is going to be some friendship, The sort that last through school and on into life... and then they'll look back and say - remember when...? Its super!!!!!

Haha! Well... yeah, they WOULD look back in life if Boots wasn't dead. But he is, and that's why Hearts is telling the stories about them; to keep the time they had alive and well.

Anyway, thank you SO MUCH for reading! I'm very glad you enjoyed the characters.

Did I miss it? Oh stupid me. But |I thought his hand was only metal. Oh dear me, oh I GET it... aaaaah But she will be able to think back and still have Boots. I still have my Shollabolla! Oh golly its even MORE poignant than at first reading....oh dear. I DO DO like it even more now! Oh BOoots......

Remind me to never trust you again when you judge your own work, my dear. This was absolutely terrific to read. I'd never read about Hearts and Boots before, but this story seriously makes me ache to. I really like the different universe you've created in the tiny detail like the people's names or what they're wearing. It's obvious you feel very confident in this world, because the characters act in a very real way. Please keep at this a bit more!
