If nothing else this community has confirmed my belief that humans are more obssessed with the trivial than any speicies I have ever encountered. Salacious gossip and petty "bitching" appear to be their main interests. I know that it was too much to hope for philosophical introspection but nonetheless I am disappointed.

Problems with Captain Archer continue. I have reason to believe that he is writing a journal in the name of his dog. Equally worrying is that fact that in this "dog journal" he admits to alcoholism.

More of the crew have appeared on this LiveJournal system. I must admit that I am not surprised. Humans have the most overwhelming capacity for "gossip," and such an interface could almost be custom-made for the spread of trivialites and rumour ( Read more... )

I have obtained a LiveJournal in the hope that it will help me better understand the behaviour of the crew. By observing which events and thoughts they consider worthy of record in such a public forum, I can obtain a perspective on their mental processes that would otherwise be impossible.

The concept is...intrigueing.
