I can see it causing further abuse or even death... but if they do that, possibility is they would have done that anyway without the condom of doom inside you.
Like in Iraq. Female soldiers are raped then killed. Hell if I'm going to die after something like that I definitely want to die knowing I wounded his pride and joy. (I'm not saying males aren't attacked... in fact they are... But I'm speaking from a females POV)
So while there is possibility for retribution, if the woman's brave enough to use one of those... she's probably brave or desperate enough to use everything in her will power to kick, shove, whatever the rapist back when he starts screaming and whatevering in pain.
It gives them a chance... they stick around... course the attacker will retalliate.
