Funny thing about online communities. If someone isn't checking them, and you're trying to get in contact with them on it?

I'm a military brat. I've seen a good chunk of the bases in the Midwest, and I had no idea a building this big existed.

So after months of surveying, and people cursing my name for even considering building a house so far away from the city...

It's done.

I'm moving in Friday.

Haven't updated here for a while.

Can't say I've had much of a reason to. My house is coming along nicely, it's actually starting to resemble a house.

Or well, treehouse. Which is interesting. Maggie's already getting to love the area, she won't let me leave her home whenever I go up to check out the progress, now.

...Oh whups.

I'm not dead, or hurt.

I just haven't been back to my apartment much since everything happened - helping up with cleanup.

...I didn't know what happened.

I'm starting to feel like my brain is leaking out of my ears, and they haven't even started the actual building yet.

Finally found a good spot away from the city for my house. It's a little rustic, and it's going to make commute to and from work complicated, but I think I can beat out a path wide enough for my bike, at least.

Now it's only a matter of finding a contractor who's willing to go out into the middle of the jungle to build a house.
