My view of the "World"

In about 20 min, I attend my first PDGA dinner. I'm writing this from 2004 Disc Golf World Championships in Des Moines, Iowa! As Co-Tournament Director of Pool "O", we are attending the PDGA awards banquet. It isn't about the contest going on this week... its about being an educator, motivator, etc. in the field of disc golf. There will be new

Dinner was pretty good. Standard banquet faire. The munchkin was falling asleep at the dinner table. I'm going down too. It was exciting; I was sorry to leave but it was necessary. I'm winding down from the initial excitement. Tomorrow (almost today) is our last rounds as World's TDs (tournament directors) I think. The group we have doesn't play semifinals. They have finals on Saturday but we aren't TDing. It has been a pretty good trip.

Part of my wants to stay and play some of these courses on Sunday. The other part wants to go to my 20 year HS reunion picnic on Sunday. Decisions, decisions.....

I called Lisa (Wilson) and cancelled out of the reunion. Catt is going to be scorekeeper for some of the junior division finals tomorrow. We are going to play some disc golf on Sunday so I can play some of the courses everyone else has gotten to play all week! (I've played 12 holes!) Check out www.pdga.com for scores!
