The nightshift epiphany
That's it. That's bloody it!
I'm losing weight. I'm sick of being fat. I hate my big arms and my reflection and love handles. I have an app on my phone so no more excuses! I'm doing it!! Starting now......

Not sleeping
I'm lying in the spare room with the window open as my bf has sweated up the duvet and the bedroom is super hot and he refuses to let me open a window. And I can't put my feet out of the duvet in case the kitten eats them.
Sometimes after night shift I'm just totally wired and it makes no sense as I'm actually exhausted.

Life is shit sometimes
Depressed. Really depressed.
The sun is shining and the Montrose music festival is happening right now. Am I there? No of course not. I'm on night shift for the next 4 nights so I'm cleaning the house before my shift :(

The weekend
So the funfair is in town for a whole week! Went with Johnny and Brodie last night and I went on a ride called la Bamba which is like a spinning leg dangly ride. Soooo much fun at the time but I have really bruised arms today. I don't remember ever getting bruises when I was young! Although I was a lot smaller then. What I did on Saturday night shift
1) read carrie by Stephen King from cover to cover in a few hours. This is my reading personal best (PB).
2) laughed at the optimism of one of my frail elderly residents. While watching a man skiing off a cliff he was like "I could do that". That's the spirit!
3) was taught German for Sunday by the same resident. And sang easy like Sunday morning! ( Read more... ) -
I hate the bastard train
Feel like I've been pulled from my nice warm bed and thrown onto a train. Via a walk in the rain. And it's really busy and smells like wet hair. Unfortunately I will have to do it all again in 3 days to pick Brodie back up again. With 3 nightshifts under my belt. A lot of people are drinking on the train. I hate them

Update for 2013
Soooo I'm doing this again. Quick update: I qualified as a nurse last year and I'm now working in a care home caring for severe elderly mental health patients. It's challenging but I think of the folks as like family now. I also love love love my colleagues especially as I'm a night worker which really creates a bond.

I'm really tired this evening. Brodies at his grannys, he actually just rang to ask if he could get his hair cut. Bless him! I'm off to pitlochry with johnny on friday. Staying in a nice hotel with a booking at a nice restaurant, I cannae wait.

Had a great day at uni today. We learned about patient monitoring using a dummy that blinking, breathed and spoke in a nasal american accent. At one point it even turned blue...
