The cold has compensations! In addition to snow men there is also Glühwein! Warm spiced alcohol makes everything more cosy :D

Eee snowman!! :DD

(Disclaimer: I grew up in an equatorial country and am thus routinely delighted by snowy things.)

Haha, I'm not equatorial but I've also seen little enough snow that I'm pretty darn delighted too at the moment ( as long as I get to warm up again every few hours!). Today we went sledding! Scary + huge fun!

Sledding!

We had snow here today too - there is so much light being thrown up outside because of the cloud cover and the snow that I can see my back fence. This is usually an impossible feat.

Snow went sleety though - we've mostly got a gigantic grey slushie. Hee, I had to sweep the steps to my house. That was, uh, oddly fun??

If you can find spiced cider, try that as well - I think it's even more awesome than mulled wine.

Lastly, that snowman - goddamn he's scary! I'm locking my windows so he can't get in! (Although I'm sure I'll still hear his twiggy stick arms going 'eeee' against the glass)...

I will look for spiced cider for sure - I like cider so that sounds utterly delicious. Hehe - snowman wasn't meant to be scary, honest! I haven't been out to check on him today but we had a bit of snow melt this morning followed by MOAR SNOW thanks. Two hours standing in the snow yesterday while the children sledded however means that we are happier (for this morning at least) to watch the snow from inside the warm house before venturing out again this afternoon.

Also, am wearing lovely tough RM Williams boots here (one of the actual 'made in Australia' pairs before they moved production off shore, alas) but they have flat soles! Ice beware! I'm thinking of wrapping some black wool around the toe of the boot just to creaste a little more traction.
