I forgot to ever come back and say thank you to all the Pratchett lovers who recommended him to me!  John and I are both loving the Pratchett.  Lessee, so far we've both read Color of Magic, The Light Fantastic, Equal Rites, Pyramids, Lords & Ladies, and Going Postal (well, I'm halfway through that one).  John has surpassed me by reading all of ( Read more... )

I don't know if I recommended him to you, but if I didn't, I do now. He's brilliant! I have read the first 5 books, but I am in withdrawal as I haven't been able to find them here (in English cause I am not reading a translation, oh no) for over a year. The English library here keeps telling me they'll get the rest, eventually... I wait with baited breath. Or I'm considering Ebay. That's how much it's addicting.

Tree!! You should take up canute on Good Omens! That's been my only pratchett experience thus far, and I loved it! But I would like to read more of them. Where does a Pratchett-noob begin?? I'm in desperate need of advice! :)

Oooh, I feel like a veteran and all... Being asked for Pratchett advice!

The first Discworld Book is "Color of Magic" in which you meet Rincewind and Twoflower and... THE LUGGAGE! After that comes "The Light Fantastic" in which their first adventure concludes and you meet Cohen the Barbarian. The third book is "Equal Rites" which is one of my favorites thus far because you meet Granny Weatherwax and she's pretty much the shiz of all shizzes.

Yay!!! Thanks so much. I remember standing in front of the Pratchett shelf at Borders, and thinking " I don't am so lost...." it was right after I read Good Omens, and I wanted to try Pratchett on his own. Thank goodness for Tree! Hooray! BTW, i never gave you my address here, like I told you I would... which email do you use, and I'll let you know. Then if you're ever bored (yeah, right!) you can write. But don't feel obligated, by any means. :)

Dearest Tonks, and I use this expression with all due respect:

Ah-dui. Of course I want to write to you! Use my treeling@gmail address. I will even go so far as to send you some Pratchett!
