Broken d00d

Most of the people on my friends list who live in the Jerusalem area have been posting about kilkulim (broken stuff) in their apartment due to the extremely "cold" weather, so I thought I'd add mine to the list:

According to a neighbor of ours, our dud shemesh (solar water heater) is blown out.

Mine too. And we needed to turn off the water in the entire building until it was all repaired. Three days without running water, I have a much better sense of how water-reliant I am.

I don't know what I'd do without hot water, but I don't know what I'd do without beef jerky and Raisinets either.

Don't worry! We have an electric water heater as well, since the solar one doesn't produce so much during the winter.
