I have read lots of her books during my childhood - Secret Seven and Famous Five, The [insert noun here] of Adventure, and all the Malory Towers and St Clare's books

Lots of creeping about after suspicious looking adults and uncovering plots, and the school books had midnight feasts, crushes, exam cheats etc. Did you see the Comic Strip spoofs - "Five Go Mad in Dorset" etc? That pretty much summed it up.
I can vaguely remember reading an old Secret Seven book that must have belonged to one of my uncles, but I couldn't name the characters now - the Famous Five are the ones I remember better.
While I didn't pick up on it when I read the books in primary school, looking back now I do think there were girl crushes (the character that comes to mind is Alison O'Sullivan).

Not sure if it was in Enid Blyton but I remember them being referred to as a "pash"!
