Passing along because I feel it's worth sharing:
The End of Reading Rainbow. I suppose it comes as no surprise to anyone who knows me that this was one of my favorite shows when I was kid. I can't really say it was responsible for my love of reading, but it certainly helped foster it.

And, really, the sad part is the education system of the US believing that the obligation to teach reading stops at teaching the mechanics of the system. Fostering a love of reading, in my honest opinion, is equally important. Shows like Reading Rainbow ARE important, just as important as shows like Word World that endeavour to teach you how to read.
