I made gingerbread.  Okay, it was a mix.  But I had to add some of the ingredients and bake it in the oven.  That counts as "made" in my book.

I couldn't wait for Christmas.  I got my new UPS yesterday.  I let it charge for 16 hours as the instructions stated.  I plugged in my computer for the first time this morning.  It's good to be on a working UPS again.  We often have unexpected power blips here.  They happen at any time for no known reason.

It looks like my Christmas present to myself is going to be a new UPS for my computer.  :: sigh ::  I had hoped for something a bit more interesting.

Why do I always get flat tires in the rain??

The daffodil bulbs for spring are in the ground.  About a dozen of them were carefully planted and covered.  The rest were just dumped in a hole and covered.  If I get at least 8 blooms, I will be very happy.  But even one bloom will be better than none.  It was not my best work but it was better than letting them all die in the dark in a bucket in ( Read more... )

This morning I took the first Java Exam...

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the planet or fallen down a hole to the planet core.  I've been studying Java.  In other words, I've been trying to download half the Internet into my brain.  Ouch!  I'm preparing to take the first Oracle (formerly Sun) Java Certification Exam.  I still don't know how long it is going to take to make this happen ( Read more... )

Friday night Steve and I watched The Maiden Heist (2008) with Christopher Walken, Morgan Freeman, and William H. Macy.  I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

Maybe Obi-Wan Kenobi was right.  Maybe truth is just a point of view.  It sounds like Stephen Hawking agrees.
