Oh, I totally would, but Meesto banned me from Harry Potter names before we even got started. Of course, he was afraid I was going to name them Hermione, Ginny, and Luna. Maybe I could sneak a Pansy and a Millicent in... Heck, they actually are Lavender coloured, maybe one could be Lavender.
I know that names help keep animals organized and streamline referring, but I personally always feel uncomfortable naming animals I intend to eat.
That said, sounds like the bitchy ones will be the easiest to stew. :-)
I'd like to hear more about how the poop board works? As I recall from my childhood chickens, the chickens made a smelly mess - my least favorite feature. (I would be happy to have the eggs. Not so much the bird poop.)
Basically they do most of their pooping at night in the same place all the time. With a board under their roost, it's easy to scape/clean/remove poop every day like a kitty litter box, leaving the rest of the coop fresh and clean(er). Some people put sand or straw on their boards, some leave them bare. If bare, some people sand and repaint every now and then, some people cover the boards with linoleum and wash then every 6 months or something. I'm throwing all the scraped-off poop into the compost bin every morning.
