They have a semi-private strip of sand that Lorne makes more private via his inability to go entirely off duty and his apparent masochistic love of chasing away stray dogs and the occasional Teva-clad small child.

This is the most perfect moment of quiet and contemplative happiness ever. And I love that you don't tell us who the father is.

This was brilliant and fantastic and reminded me slightly of Weetzie Bat.

Oh, man-the Weetzie Bat books! I haven't read those in ages. Now I want to read them again.

I'm so glad you liked it. =)

You should reread them! It's not like it takes long, they are definitely the shortest books on my list of Unadultarated Awesome.

Teyla was so happy and sunny, and there was barely any torment! Don't get me wrong, I love the Puddlejumpers and all the torment that comes with them, but this was a nice surprise as well. With the beaches and, you know, all the love.

I was going to say the same thing! (or at least something similar) The tone and the little pictures of nostalgia and happiness and family... the entire story was just so warm and welcoming and sort of made up for how cold and gross today has been.
