Quick update: I just beat NaNoWriMo again! I finished roughly three and an eighth chapters this time, which is slightly better than last year (I wrote slightly less than three chapters then). I plan on finishing the fourth chapter during finals, and then during winter break, I'll edit and move stuff around. If all goes to plan (which is rare, but I ( Read more... ) -

Now I know why people make outlines before writing a story.... and why it's generally better to finish a story quickly instead of letting it drag on for two years, five months. Give or take a couple of days.
Oh, Under the Surface, how you have tortured my poor brain.

In other news, I'm still writing... but it's been hard. Lately, real life has taken on an uncanny similarity to what I've been planning to write for the latest chapter of UtS; accordingly, right now, emotions are a bit too raw to explore just yet. In facing the hell known as Finals Week, I find myself actually making time to write/edit my fanfiction stories as a way to procrastinate/relax. Does this mean that another chapter will be up within the month? Who knows. I make no more promises. I keep finding new problems and issues with it, and I'm discovering that I'm too much of a perfectionist ( Read more... ) -

I find it hugely disappointing that I spent nearly all of March writing research papers of one kind or another, totaling up to nearly sixty pages worth of material - and that I didn't get to write anything that I was truly interested in... like UtS.
Hang in there, Yamato. I'll get there. Eventually.

Okay, a February update isn't happening. March is more likely, at this point - though even then, not a guarantee. Unfortunately, my time is usually no longer my own, with commitments to different projects and groups and activities and whatnot. And when I do find time for myself, well, I spend most of it studying.

I have finally (finally, finally, finally) updated UtS on FF.net. You're shocked, huh? I know I am. For such a headache-inducing chapter, I'm actually quite pleased at the way it shaped up, even though it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to.
