I wear black socks. Always. All my socks are black. Plain black boys' sports socks fromHS, to be precise. That way, I don't have to worry about pairing them up after washing.
(OK, strictly speaking, I do own some non-black socks, but they are just for wearing around the house when it's cold, so they don't count. Any they're not purple anyway.)
That way, I don't have to worry about pairing them up after washing. I used to have exactly that approach, but the bastard things mutated anyway, so I still never had pairs - even when I was certain they'd all started identically, I could never get two the same length, or the same shade of black :-(
This is true, but eventually, they catch up with each other, I find. And it means that if one goes missing, it's orphaned (or, I suppose, widowed) pair can sit in the drawer until another one gets widowed too, and then they generally hit it off.
No response given to either of the last two questions since whilst I don't associate your noble mission with the evils of sock colour fascism I remain to be convinced that purple socks are really my thing.
Bea would probably like to join the movement (and owns purple socks)... except she's not allowed to wear purple socks on Fridays due to school regulations.
I've been meaning to make this post for ages, but today I somehow felt that it was particularly needed - perhaps I sensed your boring socks through the ether ;-)
Anyway, you didn't know, so I'll let you off this time. Now don't do it again ;-)
Yay for purple socks!eleanorbJanuary 16 2009, 10:47:21 UTC
I have a shed load of different coloured tights for wearing with my plain black and grey skirts. Today they are purple but I also have red, three different shades of green, blue, brown, roses, stripes, and some truly horrible luminious ones when I want to be noticed :-)
Question: do purple tights count towards this noble mission, or is it specifically socks? I have purple tights, you see (although I'm not wearing them today).
I reckon purple tights can be permitted. It's not ideal, obviously, since it's the Purple Sock Friday cult, but it's better than something not purple at all.

I shall look forward to recruiting Bea when she hits sixth form, or is otherwise allowed to make her own sock colour decisions!
