I was wearing plum-coloured tights today. They're quite purply, but not as purply as my purple tights. I'm now at home and have changed into my jeans with blue and white striped Narrowboat socks (my take on the Broadripple pattern).
I might try to make more of an effort to wear my purple tights on Fridays, but it depends on the rest of my outfit really...
I *like* purple socks - but Friday is a workday and so I have work "uniform". This is the clothing I wear to work that is promptly changed out of when I get home so I can relax.
Work uniform is dark smartish trousers, a coloured M&S T-shirt, black socks and plain black shoes. The purpose is for my clothing to look strictly neutral and boring (while not depressing people - which is why the T-shirt can't be black). I don't know *why* I chose this- but it seems to work and is way easier/cheaper than a more stylish and varied work wardrobe.
Once in a while I briefly consider turning up in a Goth dress and booooots just to see the look on peoples faces....
